SS&S Christmas

  1. Naw, the whites in this lake (Little Atlin) are fish-eating thugs; I catch them on spinners, spoons and 1/8oz jigs with powergrubs (though this one succumbed to a 1/32oz jig and mini grub, which to be honest is my best producer). I haven't fished a wireworm in three years.

  2. I'm heartened to hear that all whitefishing does not require wire worms...

Did you get a new u/w camera this year? Possible to record video off it?

  3. Yup - upgraded to the Marcum VS380 after my Cabela's brand camera unit leaked last year (on the plus side, Cabela's refunded me for both the camera and my return shipping with no fuss at all). The VS380 is great, better picture quality and a much more durable-looking camera than the Cabela's camera, though I'm not as keen on their cable storage system. I'd love to record some video, particularly once I get into some of the bigger lakers on Atlin in Jan. There's a video output jack, but I lack the hardware to make this work - maybe there's the correct equipment around the office somewhere...
